From Athletics and Law to Media Management and Interaction Design My Journey So Far.

My career has encompassed various educations, professions, and experiences. In high school, I studied Law and Economics, as from a young age, I wanted to work with women's and children's rights. Besides my studies, my great passion has always been football and track and field, and after several injuries, I decided to study to become a personal trainer.

After working as a personal trainer and taking an introductory course in law at Lund University, I realized that I wanted to work in areas where I could positively impact my surroundings and our planet, not necessarily from a legal or fitness perspective. I've always had a great interest in design, art, and film, which inspired me to study media technology with a focus on production management at Malmö University. During this bachelor's program, I developed my skills in production and process management, digital marketing, graphic design, and website building using HTML and CSS, as well as WordPress, and business in the media industry, along with standalone courses in design history and exhibition design. What captivated me the most was working with design and media processes, design history, exhibition design, and programming.

My interest in how people interact with and use technology and design led me to pursue this field further, which resulted in me wanting to complete another bachelor's program and learn the basics of interaction design. From my studies in the Interaction Design bachelor's program at Malmö University, I have concluded that I believe that my role as a designer is to facilitate the design process and have knowledge of different approaches and techniques so that the group I design with can define their desires and conditions. I feel that much of today's design does not involve those for whom the design is intended, which I believe works against the idea that everyone’s voice should be heard. I firmly believe that design can make our society more inclusive and equal, and I consider my role as a designer to be humble and knowledgeable to enable this.

Participatory design, co-design, human-robot interaction, and sustainable HCI are among some of the research fields and approaches that inspire me. I am passionate about everything I do and always strive to develop and learn more.

Alongside my studies, I have gained several years of experience in the retail industry, working with both large and small companies. I’ve also been part of the organizing team for the end-of-year exhibition for the Interaction Design Bachelor's program for two consecutive years. From October 2023 to January 2025, I worked in the program’s IOIO Mechatronics lab, where I assisted other students with their design projects. Through my role in the IOIO lab, I have also worked as a Teaching Assistant for the first-year Programming and Making & Prototyping courses. Additionally, my involvement in the IOIO Mechatronics lab led me to participate in a student innovation project, which eventually allowed me to freelance as a design consultant for this project.

During the fifth and elective semester of the third and last year of the interaction design bachelor program (Sept 2024 - Jan 2025), I interned for Lizette Reitsma, Associate Senior Lecturer at Malmö University. My internship tasks were for the research project Indigenous Climate Observatories which Lizette Reitsma is a part of. During this internship, I got valuable experience in being a part of a research team. I got to learn more about the research field, and I had the opportunity to apply my learnings from my studies in a research project.

Don’t hesitate to reach out if I and what I believe in sounds interesting. I’m always open to grabbing a coffee to discuss thoughts and ideas or taking a meeting during a bike ride along Skåne’s cycling paths.
